Living in England

Hi everyone. Sorry its been so long since I last had a chance to post anything new.

I am now as you all know living in Hungerford in Berkshire. Its a lovely little town with a canal and some idyllic countryside surrounding it. Most of the land is flat with hardly any hills and certainly no sea or major bodies of water. It all seems quiet new to me being that I had lived beside the ocean for 28 years. Berkshire has its own beauty though. It certainly has character and history with many houses in nearby villages still covered with thatched roofs.

I just started running again last Tuesday with the club in my town, they are called the Hungerford Hares. There are some decent runners in the club and I found it very easy to get on with everyone as athletics is a shared history of pain. Everyone has their story to tell of their current injury or one they are just recovering from. The majority of the athletes are fun runners so I found it easy enough to keep up even though I haven’t been running since October. The club split up into two groups, one for the beginners, they ran three to four miles and the rest of us including me, ran about six. My legs are still sore even now but I certainly had the lungs and legs for the run that night. With the kids off at their grandparents I hope to get Clarah out on a run with me this weekend.

Some great news is that next week I have not only Rob visiting us on Tuesday evening I also have my parents coming over from Thursday until Sunday. I plan to take Friday off so I can show them around the place I now call home. For anyone else wishing to visit us please do, you’d be more that welcome.

I am still looking for a web or graphic design job over here, but no luck so far. I had applied to a great place shortly after I moved over and they were interested in bringing me in for an interview but I didn’t have my portfolio then. Now that I do the next time I get that call I’ll be far more prepared.

Looking forward to hearing from you all. Please contact me at jasoncarton@gmail.com as I’d much prefer to get all my important mail there and in the one place.

Talk to you soon.
Jason.
